An original watercolor on paper by Murat Kaboulov (American and Russian 1939-2010). This painting is untitled and depicts a portrait of a woman seated and wearing a purple dress. The painting is rendered in an abstract figurative technique with large and impressionistic swaths of color such as purple, blue, green, orange, red, and black.

Kaboulov was born in Russia and spent his adult life working in Brentwood, Tennessee. Kaboulov received his Master’s of Fine Arts degree from The Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia, and was a member of several prestigious artist collectives including Union of Artists of Russia and Portrait Society of America. His work is featured in many collections throughout Russia and the United States, and around the world.
