An original oil on canvas by listed Cincinnati artist Edna M. Schmidt (1912-1999) titled The Boxes. A tall stack of boxes fill a corner of a neutral colored room, in tones of red, gray, mauve, and white. Each box, while structurally similar, appears to have its own unique characteristics and personality, clustered together in a little cardboard community. Signed in paint to lower right, this work is presented in a wooden frame with natural finish and the appearance of wide woodgrain. Hanging wire and original purchase labels present to verso.

Condition

- craquelure present throughout surface of painting. Scuffs and scratches present to frame.
