An original oil on board by Murat Kaboulov (American and Russian 1939-2010). This oil painting is untitled and depicts the nude figure of a woman seated with her legs crossed. The painting is rendered in an abstract figurative technique with large and impressionistic swaths of color such as yellow, orange, red, purple, pink, green, blue, olive, gray, white, and brown. The painting is signed on the lower left corner, ‘M. Kaboulov, 08.’
Kaboulov was born in Russia and spent his adult life working in Brentwood, Tennessee. Kaboulov received his Master’s of Fine Arts degree from The Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia, and was a member of several prestigious artist collectives including Union of Artists of Russia and Portrait Society of America. His work is featured in many collections throughout Russia and the United States, and around the world.
