Sheffield Electroplate Coffee and Tea Service
Item Details
A Sheffield electroplate coffee tea service. The five piece services includes a coffee server, tea server, sugar bowl with tongs, creamer, and a platter. All of the serving pieces have engraved decoration of a center shield with a crown above and scrolled acanthus leaves framing both sides. Reeded hinged lids on servers have a decorative finial. Server bottoms are marked ‘5226 Sheffield Electroplate’. The tray does not match the service and has ovoid cartouches and acanthus leaves creating a center medallion. The rim carries an egg and dart pattern and the molded handles carry the same motifs of the tray itself. Tongs are marked ‘WH&SB. Tray is marked ’CJA’.
