An original oil pastel drawing by contemporary well-known Cincinnati, Ohio based artist Gail Morrison, titled Falls. The piece depicts an organic, abstracted depiction of a rushing waterfall, drawn with thick, gestural strokes of oil pastel. The energy of Morrison’s wonderfully evokes the quickly rushing water, adding energy and life to the piece. The piece is faintly signed ‘Gaia’ in pencil to lower right; this is the artist’s first name in Italian, and is how she signs all of her works. The piece is matted in white and presented behind glass in a wooden frame with a hanging wire. Morrison began painting in Italy, and has traveled there to paint and work with other artists again and again throughout her career. Her work has been shown in the United States, France and Italy, and hangs in both private and corporate collections around the world.
