K. Seki Original Japanese Watercolor

An original watercolor painting on paper by well-respected Japanese watercolor painter K. Seki. Little is known about the artist, other than that he was part of a pre-war school of Japanese watercolorists who closely studied Western watercolor techniques and painted soft, Realist Japanese landscapes. This painting depicts a fishing boat floating across a small mountain lake. Fog shrouds rounded peaks in the distance, and shadowy reeds float across the water’s surface. The painting is signed in red to the lower left. The painting is matted in white and presented behind glass in thin wooden frame with gold tone finish and a hanging wire.
