Item Details

An original oil on canvas painting of a clown portrait by an anonymous artist, circa 1940. The clown wears garish white and teal face paint, a huge round, red nose, and has a single tooth displayed as he smiles widely. The painting is mounted behind a linen mat with a gilt fillet in a beveled wood frame with a distressed finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.

Condition

- accretion on canvas and frame. Finish of frame has some wear around the edges. Linen mat is stained.
