An original Henri Van Seben oil on canvas. This piece is by well-listed artist Henri Van Seben (Belgium, 1825-1913) and depicts a group of children playing outdoors on a snowy day, children in the background are building a snowman and the the child in the foreground is getting ready to toss a snowball. This is a classic example of his work that often included wintry scenes and scenes with children. This work is signed ‘H. V. Seben ’76’ at the lower left and presented in a broad, ornate, gilt wooden frame with no mount to the verso. The frame is labeled ‘Henri Van Seben 1825-1913’ to the verso.
