Featured text on the piece reads, ‘Marie Laveau, Voodoo Queen. Died June 16, 1882 New Orleans, LA. Buried in St Louis #1 Cemetery. Mam’ Zelle Widow Paris was waked at home at 152 St. Ann Street. A mass of Christian burial was held at St Louis Cathedral. ‘Marie the Sainted’ was a member of Society of Ladies with Tignons and Ponsiniera.’
