A small handwoven wool Rahrah soumak area rug. Rahrah (Turkish) rugs are typically made with stripes in the main field and a geometric border. This rug is 320-410 KPSI. This rug is of the nomadic type was made to be easy to transport. It has a palette of muted earth tones with umber, madder red, oranges, indigo, ivory, cinnamon and warm beige. It features an eagle’s beak hooked pattern with ram’s horn and crenellated forms. It has a wide kilim skirt in madder weft colors with hand-tied wool warp fringe to either end. Unmarked.
