Chinese Hand Embellished Landscape Hanging Scroll Print

A Chinese hand embellished landscape scroll print with box. Titled “Wise Men Gather in a Bamboo Forest,” this highly detailed scene features several finely rendered figures throughout in a mountainous landscape. This lithograph is based on the original by a Chinese artist from Yangzhou in Jiangsu province. An hand written calligraphic inscription and seal are in the upper right corner. The base image is an offset lithograph in black print overlaid with a second pass print with the fine details of figures, leaves, and flowers with hand applied washes of color in blue, yellow, red, and green. The paper is mounted as a hanging scroll on a two-tone blue brocade silk covered scroll with a ribbon at the top. A pencil inscription of the title can be found on the back of the top hanging rod.
