A commemorative ‘Better City, Better Life’ Expo 2010 People’s Bank of China silver bar and coin collection. This set features five silver bars, twelve silver coins and one large silver token all in commemoration of the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. The bars are marked to one side with the 2010 World Expo logo, which depicts an illustrated variation on the Chinese character ‘世’, meaning ‘the world’ and ‘Better City, Better Life’ in English and Chinese. The other side of the bars has a bright blue illustration of Haibao, the World Expo mascot, with a globe above and the Shanghai skyline below. The coins have a variety of full-color, illustrated mascots from World Expos prior to 2010 to the obverse and the reverse have the Shanghai skyline, a globe and inscribed ‘2010 Expo Shanghai China.’ Each piece is marked ‘Ag 99.9,’ ‘Ag 99.9 1oz’ or ‘Ag 99.9 300g’ and housed in transparent, acrylic cases. Also included is a welcome banner, several certificates explaining the coins and bars and a custom fitted, red display case.
