Antique China and Vintage Brilliant Cut Bowl
Item Details
A collection of antique china and a vintage brilliant cut glass bowl. This collection includes a transfer print two piece ceramic soap drainer, a hand painted plate. The antique soap dish comes in two parts the drainer dish has a main drain hole in the center and twelve smaller holes around the center. This part also has a lip that allows it to rest on the edge of its mate for water to drain through. the bottom bowl has a raised foot ring and is marked with a greyhound dog trademark and ‘Argyle/ E.M & Co/ B/ Geranium’ for Edge Malkin and Company in the Argyle pattern. This mark means the ware was produced a pottery in Burlsem England between 1879-1891. The antique plate is marked ‘Limoges France’ and ‘B.&H’ for Blakeman and Henderson. This plate has a delicate floral motif in blue detailed in embossed gilt and bordered with gilt rimming. The last piece is a brilliant cut glass bowl with the star motif, scallop edge and sawtooth finished rim.
Condition
- small chip to underside of rim of drainer; some crazing in the glaze of the receiver dish.
