Two Circa 19th Century Persian Miniatures
Item Details
A pair of two Persian miniatures or illuminated manuscripts, circa 1900. Each is presented in a gold-tone frame under glass with beige matting. Both pages are bordered by identical thin lines, feature calligraphed Farsi in similar style to top and bottom, and bright, gilt-ornamented paintings in gouache on paper. One portrays two men surrounded by djinn, while the other portrays a group of women and male instrumentalists watching a woman levitate or fly on a pillow.
