Item Details
A painting framed under glass. This original painting depicts a barefoot woman in a draping dress or robes sitting near a body of water in a pastoral setting with two sheep beside her. A pigtailed man in breeches and stockings, a folded-brimmed hat hanging at his waist and a dog at his ankle, leans above her with one knee on the bank behind him. The man is holding what appears to be a box-shaped birdcage; the door is open, and the woman extends a finger towards the bird. This piece has an unidentified signature in the lower right, and is displayed in a gold tone wood frame with a wire loop for hanging attached.
Condition
- art is painted on a flexible ground and slightly rippled in the frame.
- some discoloration to frame and wear to cloth backing.
