A pair of Theodore Kittelsen (1857 -1913) Norwegian folk art reproduction prints. This pair of monochromatic reproduction prints are framed and have a white mat, and are under glass. feature scenes from two different Norwegian folk tales: The Nixie and The White Bear King Valemon. The Nixie are shape-shifting water spirits who usually appear in human form. These spirits have appeared in the myths and legends of all Germanic peoples in Europe. The second print depicts the White Bear King Valemon. Kittelsen studied at the Academy of Munich and was famous especially for his drawings of trolls, and created several water colors, drawings, and paintings throughout his career.
