S. Kirk & Son "Repousse" Sterling Silver Punch Ladle

A sterling silver punch bowl ladle in the Repousse pattern from S. Kirk & Son, circa 1940s. Samuel Kirk (1793-1872) was a silversmith from Pennsylvania, who later established a company in Baltimore and introduced and perfected an American version of Repousse sterling. Repousse is a type of relief pattern that is hammered from the inside, but Kirk designed his own pattern, the first of which was named ‘Repousse’.
