Original Albert Sterner WWI Red Cross Poster

Item Details

An original 1918 stone lithograph poster designed by the Red Cross during the First World War by listed English-American illustrator Albert Sterner (1863 – 1946). The poster depicts a newly arrived nurse being pointed towards a sick soldier, and the words ‘We need you’ are printed across the top of the poster in large block letters. The poster was printed by the American Lithographic Co. in New York. It is signed and dated in-plate to the lower left. The poster is currently not matted or framed, but is housed in an acrylic folder with cardboard backing. More information about the artist can be found under Additional Information.

Condition

- light yellowing across, and a few very small rips and tears to margins.
