Victor Vasarely Signed Limited Edition Op Art Serigraph

Item Details

An untitled signed limited edition serigraph by well-listed Hungarian Modern Op-artist Victor Vasarely (Hungary/France, 1906-1997). The image depicts a composition of varying shades of purple and blue diamond shapes in an optically convincing pattern that creates the illusion of a three-dimensional square pit diminishing into the pictorial space. The print is numbered in 227 in an edition of 250 and hand-signed by the artist in pencil to the lower margin, mounted behind muted lavender mat, under glass in a rounded silver tone metal frame. A hanging wire is attached to the verso. Vasarely is often referred to as the “Father of the Op-Art Movement,” and his art remains some of the most recognizable from the mid-20th century.

Condition

- foxing throughout print, notable along outer margins. Finish of frame is scratched.
