Vintage Handwoven Tabriz Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage handwoven wool Tabriz area rug. The rug has an indigo field populated with rectilinear floral and foliate motifs in ruby, saffron, ivory and pale blue. It has ‘carnation’ guard borders in similar colors, and a principal border with a large-scale ‘crab’ motif, interlocked with lobed flower blossoms and lancet leaves. It has a natural cotton warp fringe to either end, and is unmarked.
