A vintage Advent 201 cassette deck. This tape deck was known for being the first high performance, high fidelity cassette deck available for home use, using Dolby technology. It features an extensive control panel with sliders for noise reduction, tape and meter, and dials to control input and record levels. The deck is housed in a wooden exterior, and is marked to the topside ‘Advent; Cambridge, Massachusetts’.
