Signed Handmade Stained Glass Lightbox "Self Portrait"
Item Details
An original hand-crafted stained glass light box, titled Self Portrait by artist Joey Wadler. The piece uses various bright shades of wispy glass soldered with a copper foil technique to depict a curious Cubist-style portrait of a man gazing towards the viewer. Behind him, two more figures that seem to be his reflection shrink into the background. The artist’s signature is etched into the lower center piece of glass, and it is titled in pencil to the verso. The glass is mounted into a rustic-style wooden box with painted gray finish and a hanging wire. A working lamp is mounted into the verso and can be flipped on to illuminate the image.
Condition
to fair- a few small cracks to glass, and a single small triangle is missing to lower left. Paint scratching and chipping across frame, consistent with rustic style.
