Victorian Side Chair with Needlepoint Seat

A Victorian side chair with a needlepoint seat. This lovely walnut chair is in the Eastlake Victorian style, with pierced, carved and turned wood details along the top rail. The back legs are square; the front legs are round, with peg legs attached to casters. The padded seat back is blue velvet finished with piping. The upholstered seat cushion has matching blue velvet to the sides, and a hand-stitched needlepoint top, with a design of a bouquet of flowers on a blue background, which matches the velvet in color. The edges of the seat cushion are trimmed with blue velvet piping. No maker’s marks present.
