Edie Harper Signed Limited Edition Serigraph "Cat and House"
Item Details
A 1985 signed limited edition serigraph by well-listed artist Edie Harper (Cincinnati, 1922-2010), titled Cat and House. The print depicts a young girl peeking over the roof of a massive dollhouse. Miniature toys fill the house’s rooms, and a striped gray cat sleeps peacefully in the foreground. The print is signed, titled, and numbered 364/375 in pencil in the lower margin. It is currently housed in its original paper folio from Frame House Gallery, along with a Certificate of Authenticity and a short poem inspired by the piece. Edie Harper described herself as a “Jill of all trades trying to master one” since she had been successful in many areas of art including photography, wood sculpture, weaving, and jewelry design, as well as painting and printmaking. Her husband, well-known artist and illustrator Charley Harper, called her “the thinking man’s Bible illustrator.” Edie’s work has been exhibited at the Cincinnati Art Museum, Andover Art Museum, and the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati.
