Edwardian Wedding Dress and Accessories
Item Details
An Edwardian wedding dress and accessories. The circa 1920s wedding gown is made of ivory brocade satin with a cumberbund waist, with long, lace sleeves and bodice inset. Edging the lace bodice, the shoulders and cuffs of the dress are rows of faux pearls, in clusters shaped like flowers. The dress fastens with hooks and snaps up the back. Also included is a matching fine net veil, with matching lace along the bottom, and topped with an ivory colored beaded headpiece. A lovely pair of vintage satin wedding shoes, designed and worn with the dress, are included. The satin-covered shoes have squared heels, leather soles, a wide ankle strap that fastens with a satin-covered button, and rounded toes, embellished with a pleated lace medallion of netting with a satin rosebud in the center (not sized; marked with the numbers ‘360’ to the inside). Accessories and extras include a groom’s pleated shirt and tie (still wrapped in paper from the cleaners’ from decades ago), (monogrammed with the letter ‘C’), a pair of white kid leather gloves, a satin rosette with streamers and tassels, a packet of extra fabric and lace for the dress, extra mother-of-pearl buttons and satin ribbon. The entire ensemble comes with a galvanized steel storage box.
