Ernest Nantucket Basket Style Whale Purse

Item Details

A Nantucket style whale basket purse. This hand-crafted woven purse is oval in shape and features a bent wood handle and a carved whale to the top of the wooden decoration on the top of the lid, carved from imitation whale ivory. There is an attached hook and eye style closure, woven hinges to the lid and a wooden bottom. It is lined in tan twill fabric. This purse was made in Hong Kong.

Condition

Some of the material is split and broken around the rim.
