Antique Composite Column Architectural Element

Item Details

An antique column architectural element. This tall composite column features the scrolling layered acanthus leaves of a Corinthian capital, and the volutes of the Ironic order. It is constructed of horse hair, plaster, and wood in three pieces currently held together with liquid nails. Per owners information, this column is reputed to be from the Trans Mississippi Exposition.

Condition

- surface damage with paint loss, chips, and cracks.
