A 19th century Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain and silver jewelry box. A porcelain heart form is painted with plum blossom trees. The box is wrapped with silver plate adornments bearing a dragon and a phoenix medallion to center. The design is symbolic of ‘yang’ and ‘yin’ in Chinese philosophy. A hand-signed catalog tag to the inside reads, ‘333, 19th Century Old, Porcelain Silver Jewelry Box, Age: Chinese Qing Dynasty, Ca: 1850-1880.’

Condition

Metal is coming loose in top part of heart- Can be repaired.
