A vintage World War I YMCA color lithographic poster, circa 1917, headlined Clean Over: A Trench is no Place like Home but the YMCA is the Next Best Thing. The poster features an illustration of a man’s portrait, merrily chuckling and wearing a fedora, his cheeks rosy with laughter. Subtext of the poster reads, ’Don’t be Selfish/ Give the Boys a little of what you’ve got/ Chip in for the War Work of the YMCA’. This poster was published by the Morgan Lithograph Company in Cleveland, Ohio, as indicated by the fine printed text to the lower left margin. This piece is not framed, awaiting choice of presentation.
