Vintage Chalkware Borghese Figurines and a Pair of Bookends
Item Details
A grouping of vintage 1950s chalkware figural decor. Includes a pair of elegant Italian Borghese figurines, modeling an 18th century man and woman in traditional rural dress. These are finished in muted painted tones of tan, ivory, green and yellow, and have circular bases. One retains a paper manufacturer’s label to underside. Also included are a pair of Southern belle style bookends, depicting a bonneted girl with flouncy skirt and wrap. These have a rather simple painted finish with blue detailing to clothing, and are felted to underside.
Condition
- considerable crazing to finish on bookends, and some wear to base of one figurine.
