A vintage Madame Alexander “Gone with the Wind” doll. Madame Alexander is a brand of collectible dolls established in 1923 by Beatrice Alexander. She created the first collectible dolls based on a licensed character from a movie, television show, or book. She was also one of the first to create dolls in honor of living people. This particular doll is based on the fictional book and movie character Scarlett O’Hara, numbered 1590. She has a layered white floor-length gown with a green ribbon cinching at the waist.
