An original ink wash still life drawing on heavyweight paper by listed Cincinnati artist Margaret Wenstrup (1930-2008). The drawing depicts a monochromatic still life, featuring a metal bowl of fruit and a ceramic jug set against a flowing fabric background. The piece was created in 1949, previous to Wenstrup’s marriage, and is signed ‘Newland’ to both the upper nad lower right corners. It is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Wenstrup graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, lived and worked in New Richmond, Ohio, and is known as a pioneer of Mid-Century Modernism. She is recognized for her bold use of color and large scale work.
