Margaret Wenstrup Original Ink Drawing of Seashells

An original ink drawing on paper by listed Cincinnati artist Margaret Wenstrup (1930-2008). The drawing depicts a collage of playfully illustrated seashells resting on a sandy beach, all drawn in simple thin black linework. The piece is unsigned, but comes directly from the artist’s estate. It is presented without framing and matting. Wenstrup graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, lived and worked in New Richmond, Ohio, and is known as a pioneer of Mid-Century Modernism. She is recognized for her bold use of color and large scale work.
