Margaret Wenstrup Original Miniature Ink Drawing

An original ink marker drawing on paper by listed Cincinnati artist Margaret Wenstrup (1930-2008). The drawing depicts several intersecting star-like patterns made from black and white checks and stripes. The viewers eye swirls across the page as the center point of each spiral draws them further into the piece’s chaos. The piece is unsigned, but comes directly from the artist’s estate. It is presented without framing and matting. Wenstrup graduated from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, lived and worked in New Richmond, Ohio, and is known as a pioneer of Mid-Century Modernism. She is recognized for her bold use of color and large scale work.
