An original gouache on paper by artist John L. Eastman. The abstract piece depicts a tilted woman with exaggerated arms on a rounded base, to a black background. Piece is signed and dated, ‘John L. Eastman / 11-4-70’. Additional wording on the piece reads ‘So we have confirmation of what was said in prophecies; and you will be right to depend on prophecy and take it as a light for lighting a way through the dark until the dawn comes and the morning star rises in your minds.’ Piece is matted in gilt finish metal frame with wire attached to the verso and ready to hang. There is no glass front. Please see attached link for additional information on the artist. This California artist graduated from UCLA with a degree in graphic arts, with success as a fashion illustrator. He has referred to his work as “beautiful distortion.’

- some wear consistent with display, glass cover missing, some slight scratches on mat.
