Roger Williams Mixed Media "Silverlining"
Item Details
An original mixed media work by Cincinnati-based artist Roger Williams titled Silverlining. Williams, a former director for the Art Academy of Cincinnati, employs touches of watercolor reds, blues, and purples with hints of metallic silver paint to brighten up this otherwise dark work. Frantic, thick lines of charcoal fill the space in and around the amorphous clouds littering the upper portion of this piece, while the sky appears to clear toward the bottom, with touches of white and lilac peeking through the storm. Signed and dated 1977 among the clouds to upper left in pencil, and mounted beneath a single layer of white matting. Presented behind glass in a light wood frame with eye hooks for hanging wire present to verso.
