Original H.H. Wessel Etching

A highly desired and striking original etching by listed artist Herman Henry Wessel (Ohio, 1878 – 1969), title, written in the margin to the lower left, ‘Mt. Adams from Eden Park’ and signed in pencil signed to the bottom right hand corner, presumably an edition of 50, full margins, plate size 6.75 × 4.25.′

A magnificent dry point etching, executed on site, that beauty illustrates one of the most captivating parts of Cincinnati. Presented in the original wooden frame with black paint and gold border, with an acid free single white mat to edge, hinged to the backing mat.

This etching should be compared to Herman Wessel’s oil painting of Mt. Adams from Eden Park currently in the collection of the Cincinnati Art Museum. Wessel was a student of Frank Duveneck, and aside from the works in the Cincinnati Art Museum, is also exhibited in the Smithsonian.
