Fish Fossil
Item Details
A fish fossil. This interesting specimen contains the skeletal impressions of two small fishes (one, Knightia alta, K. eocaena; the other, Diplomystus analis) which are embedded in a sandstone matrix. The fossil was found in in the Green River shale formation in western Wyoming sometime in the 1970s, and comes with a paper describing the history of the area and the fossil.
