Early 20th Century "Century" Metal Fan
Item Details
An early 20th century Century metal fan. This four bladed metal fan is housed in a wire case, with two rods encircling the fan, and several wavy rods joining in the middle around a plate marked ‘Century’. The fan motor is housed in a metal case on top of a swiveled joint, connected to the neck which terminates at the wide base, affixed to a wooden baseboard. The ‘on’ switch is on the back of the motor case, and there is also a placard that reads ‘Century Alternating Current Fan Manufactured in U.S.A. Century Electric Co., Patented Dec. 29, 1914.’
Condition
- some tarnishing and rust.
- some components of the metal casing may be missing.
- tape wound around the power cord, some fraying to the cord where it meets the base.
