An original mixed media painting on paper by artist John Spurgen, titled Express. The abstract painting is created with acrylic paint, graphite, and pastels. A jagged charcoal gray area cuts into a pale blue grid as flowing patches of pale pink and yellow rise into the scene from the lower margin. The piece is unsigned. It is matted in white and presented behind glass in a composite frame with flyspecked gilt finish. The painting is unsigned, but a tag to the verso gives the artist’s name and the piece’s title.
