Early Twentieth-Century Cast Iron Car Collection
Item Details
A collection of early twentieth century cast iron or mixed metal cars. The bus trailer is from the 1933 World’s Fair, marked ‘Century of Progress – Chicago – 1933 Greyhound Lines’ on the roof, is painted tan with some flecks, and has a hitch hole on the front underside for attaching to a lead car. The black cast iron car includes a flip-up rumble seat in the back, rubber tires, and a yellow painted underside. The cast-iron pickup is painted blue, has rubber tires, and is missing its bed; the red-orange sedan car has traces of rubber around the axles, but otherwise is missing all four tires.
Condition
- all three cars are missing some or all of their wheels.
- chips and wear to paint on all pieces.
- large black pickup truck has a broken roof.
