A bold handwoven, vegetable dyed Turkic wool rug in an Afshar style, made with hand spun and carded wool. The rug has a bright blue stepped medallion to the center, featuring a red-orange center and rectilinear patterning in white, bright green and salmon. The surrounding field of rich grass green features large symbols and hooked patterning in vivid fuchsia, burnt orange, ruby and white. The guard borders are brilliant bright blue with a carnation pattern, flanking a principal border in red-orange with a stylized turtle motif in blues and greens. Tagged to reverse, ‘Basdoganlar Dis Tic / Avshar Collection / Hand Made in Turkiye.’
