Vintage Chippendale Secretary Desk

A vintage Chippendale style secretary desk made by Northern Furniture Company. This all walnut two-piece desk is early 20th century (1904-1949). It has an oak stain and a semi gloss finish to the interior and a matte finish to the exterior. The top of the desk has three ball finials, with the larger in the center and the smaller at the front corners. The glass pane doors have pull knobs and criss-crossing wood on the glass, creating a diamond shape. Inside the top cabinet are three shelves. The bottom half of the desk has a pull down door which makes a desk top when the slide out support extensions are out. Inside the door are four letter slots, a small door and two small drawers side by side. The small door has a floral design in an oval and the drawers have brass toned pulls. The bottom portion has three drawers with bail handles and dovetail construction. The feet are saber design and have a wave pattern connecting the two front feet. Inside one drawer reads ‘Northern Furniture Company Sheboygan’.
