Large Ceramic German Beer Stein
Item Details
A large, ceramic German beer stein. This stein has a conical, metal lid on a hinge with an embossed design and tapered finial. The cylindrical stein is decorated with a tableau of Bavarian scenery in relief painted in dark blue and brown. The sides are embossed ‘Im dunklen ist ihr kuss nicht feuer’ and ‘Auch sprode madchen haben feuer’ which translates roughly to ‘In the dark her kiss is not fire’ and ‘Even brittle girls have fire.’ The stein is marked ‘Made in Germany’ to the underside.
