William Hogarth Antique Offset Lithograph "The Shrimp Girl'
Item Details
An antique early-20th century offset lithograph reproduction of a famous 1745 painting by very well-listed English painter and printmaker William Hogarth (1697 – 1764), titled The Shrimp Girl. A woman balances a large basket loaded with shrimp and mussels on her head to sell in a market. This painting is unique in Hogarth’s body of work; it was painted late in his life and exhibited a much looser, free-form style than many of his other works. The print is presented in a dark deeply set antique wooden frame with carved embellishments and gold tone finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso.
Condition
- print is quite faded. Glass and print are very loose in frame. Scratching and chipping across frame.
