1984 J35 Hull 104 Cruising and Racing Sailboat

A 1984 J35 Hull 104 cruising and racing sailboat. The J35 is an unique model that can be enjoyed by racing, cruising, or a combination of the two. This model features two complete bulkheads that provide structural strength to the boat as well as privacy between the main cabin, head, and v-berth. The boat’s design was elected into the design hall of fame for it’s performance based design. This boat, named Scot-Free has raced in many competitive events in the Annapolis/Baltimore circuit such as the NOOD Regatta, North American Championship, Mid-Atlantic Championship, Race to Baltimore, Governor’s Cup, NASS Fall Oxford Race, Solomon’s Overnite, PSA Overnite, and AYC Fall Series.

This boat features a blue hull with a cream colored deck. The barrier is an E-2000 barrier coat with 10 coats applied. The interior cabin in finished in white and the cabin sole has been professionally replaced. The engine is a Yanmar 3 cylinder 3GM30 with a registered x100RPM; the propeller is a folding Martec two blade, the prop shaft cutlass bearing has been replaced. The mast, spreader, and boom have been professionally re-rigged and repainted with white Awlgrip. In addition, it features a Hydraulic backstay adjuster, a stock cabin top halyard winches, and stock primary and secondary cockpit winches. The lower rudder, forestay, shrouds, rod rigging and turnbuckles have all be replaced. The forestay includes a Harken Carbo foil double track. A dripless stuffing box has been added. New lifelines have been installed per offshore safety regulations. The V-berth, two main cabin settees, two pipe berths, two quarter-berths, and cockpit are all equipped with cushions. Additionally featured onboard are a Marina VHF radio, AM/FM/ETC radio, fire extinguisher, lifejackets, 2 burner galley stove, manual house water system, 20-gallon diesel fuel tank, enclosed head/shower, battery, and an electronic speed/depth/wind detector. Includes the following sails: Dacron main, 2+ Spinnakers (0.6 oz AP, 1.5 oz, and older practice shoots), AP1 headsail, recut H1 headsail, #3 headsail, and older headsails (for practice use only).

  • Please note that payment for boats can only be rendered by cash, cashier’s check or wire transfer. Cashier’s checks take up to 24 hours to clear and all wire transfers must be made through EBTH Headquarters prior to EBTH releasing any boat. EBTH will not accept credit card payment for boats at any time. Additionally, EBTH does not warrant condition of boat. Condition stated is that of owner. Please bring diesel mechanic to preview for personal assessment. Lastly, the winning bidder is advised to check with their DMV / BMV to ensure that all necessary paperwork, tags, et cetera are complete before the boat is removed from the premises.
  • Please note, this item is available for pick-up only in Annapolis, Maryland at the Port Annapolis Marina. The winning bidder will be notified of its location upon completion of the sale.
  • Item is not available for transfer to any EBTH warehouse. Item must be picked up locally by winning bidder during the published pickup times.

  • At the time of cataloging, EBTH was able to determine this boat powered on. However, the boat is otherwise untested and is being sold “as-is.” Therefore, refunds based on the working condition of the boat will not be issued.
