A collection of vintage children’s books. The hardcover books range in date from 1916 to 1977. Authors included are Louisa May Alcott, Carolyn Keene, Thornton W. Burgess, and Albert PaysonTerhune. There are nine Nancy Drew titles all published by Grosset and Dunlap of New York between 1932-1954. One, ‘The Clue of the Leaning Chimney’ has a dust cover. Also included are three novels by Terhune including, ‘Lad, A Dog’, ‘A Dog Named Chips’, and ‘The Faith of a Collie’. Each of these is complete with dust jackets. The oldest book in the collection is ‘Will Shakespeare’s Little Lad’ by Imogene Clark published by Charles Scribner’s Sons of New York in 1916 (copyright 1897). Completing the set of sixteen books is ‘Under the Lilacs’ by Louisa M. Alcott with a dust cover. It is the Orchard House Edition published by Little, Brown and Company of Boston in 1950. Also included is ‘Blacky the Crow’ by Thornton W. Burgess, published in 1922 by Grosset and Dunlap.
