Hand Woven Hamadan Area Rug
Item Details
A hand woven Hamadan wool area rug. It features a large geometric medallion to the center in a palette of off-white, cherry red, bright pink, indigo, fuchsia, ruby, cinnamon and pale blue with a crenellated edge. The medallion and field repeat a pattern of geometric symbols and octagonal medallions in pale blue. The principal border features a rosette pattern with cruciform shapes on a carmine red field and _running water guard borders in hunter green and pale blue. It has a coarse weave and neatly trimmed fringe to either end. Unmarked.
