A Copeland Spode Florence cake stand. Copeland Spode, based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, was founded by Josiah Spode in 1770 titled ‘Spode’, but ‘Copeland’ was introduced in 1833 under the ownership of William Taylor Copeland, and went through numerous name changes since. The Florence line, in production from the late 1930s, features delicate Italianate motifs in brown, blue, reds and yellows. This cake stand has a tapering foot, and a circular plate with a slightly raised rim. Marked and stamped.
