A Copeland Spode Florence china set. Copeland Spode, based in Stoke-on-Trent, England, was founded by Josiah Spode in 1770 titled ‘Spode’, but ‘Copeland’ was introduced in 1833 under the ownership of William Taylor Copeland, and went through numerous name changes since. The Florence line, in production from the late 1930s, features delicate Italianate motifs in brown, blue, reds and yellows. This set includes twelve dinner plates, twelve salad plates, twelve bread plates, eight dessert bowls, and six small bowls. All are stamped and marked.
